With few small boutique properties in Kuala Lumpur, the Anggun is a charming find. Located in the last remaining section of a residential neighbourhood the area around Anggun is calmer compared to parallel roads but yet within short walking distance to every amenity and major shopping malls in Bukit Bintang.

Anggun Boutique was purchased in the 1930s by a former Chinese sojourner, Chung Khin Seong, who came to Malaysia in the early 1900s seeking his fortune. Purchasing two colonial houses, the Chung clan enjoyed the use of Anggun as a place to gather and celebrate the Chinese New Year for centuries until it was turned into a small, home from home hotel in the centre of the city.

The Anggun is ideal for any guests looking to enjoy life in an old-fashioned Malaysian house – with the sights, sounds and aromas of local life flowing in from the neighbouring streets. Featuring inner courtyards the property offers an environmental friendly experience – the shower pressure is purposely low, the cleaning materials are biodegradable and there is a minimal dependency on air-conditioning. For us this hotel is the perfect place to enjoy the unique charms of traditional living amongst the bright lights of the big city.

The delightful guest rooms have wooden floors, elegant handmade furniture, soft lighting and cosy flowery bedding. Private en-suite bathrooms feature natural toiletries. The wifi can be a little unreliable so come prepared with a local SIM if you need to be connected.

Anggun is run by a team that is passionate about making your stay a comfortable and memorable one. Luggage storage is available, as well as bookings for local buses, taxis and sightseeing tours. Family facilities including interconnecting rooms, baby cots and babysitting can also be arranged.
